Let v is the position of formed image. Using lens formula to find it as :

\dfrac{1}{f}=\dfrac{1}{v}-\dfrac{1}{u}\\\\\dfrac{1}{v}=\dfrac{1}{f}+\dfrac{1}{u}\\\\\dfrac{1}{v}=\dfrac{1}{10}+\dfrac{1}{(-8)}\\\\v=-40\ cm

Magnification,

m=\dfrac{v}{u}\\\\m=\dfrac{-40}{-8}\\\\m=5

So, the position of image is at (-40 cm) and magnification is 5.
