Given info : the height of water is 10 m, density of water is 1000 kg/m³ , acceleration due to gravity, g = 10 m/s².

To find : the pressure at the base of the dam is ..

solution : The pressure at the base of the dam , P = P₀ + ρgh

where P₀ is atmospheric pressure. so , P₀ = 1.013 × 10⁵ N/m²

now, P = 1.013 × 10⁵ N/m² + 1000 kg/m³ × 10 m/s² × 10 m

= 1.013 × 10⁵ N/m² + 10⁵ N/m²

= 2.013 × 10⁵ N/m²

Therefore the pressure at the base of the dam is 2.013 × 10⁵ N/m².
