To Find :  probability that a point  selected randomly on PQ, is on the given segment

A segment PQ  from - 4 to  4

=> d (PQ) = 4 - (-4)  = 8

RQ

R = - 2  ,  Q  = 4

d(RQ)  = 4 - (-2)  = 6

probability that a point  selected randomly on PQ, is on the RQ  segment

= d(RQ)/d(PQ)

= 6/8

= 3/4

= 0.75

SQ

S =1  ,  Q  = 4

d(RQ)  = 4 - 1  =  3

probability that a point  selected randomly on PQ, is on the SQ  segment

= d(SQ)/d(PQ)

= 3/8

= 0.375
