(2x+4)(ax²+bx+c)+r
2ax³+2bx²+2cx+4ax²+4bx+4c+r
arrange in order
compare this with original equation
2a = 1
so a = 0.5
4a+2b= 3
substitute a and find b
b = 1
4b+2c= 5
c = 1
4c+r=6
r=2
quotient is 0.5x²+x+1=2
