Find the ratio in which P(4,m) divides the line segment joining the point A(2,3)and B(6,-3). Hence find m.

hey!! I got thus in my maths paper but unluckily the paper got cancelled!..
well, here's the ans..

let P(4,m) divide the line joining points A(2,3) and B(6,-3) be in ratio k:1
so, by using section formula
(4,m) = [ 1×2+ k×6 , 1×3 + k × (-3) ]
4 =(2+6k)/ (k+1) , also,m = [3-3k]/(k+1)
4(k+1) = (2+6k). m= 3-3/3+1
4k -6k = 2-4. m=0
-2k = -2
k =1
