Given point are A(-3,10) and B(6,-8).

By the section formula, the coordinates of P are:

⇒ [(mx2 + nx1)/m + n, my2 + ny1/m + n)] = (x,y)

Here,  (x1,y1) = (-3,10) and (x2,y2) = (6,-8) and (x,y) = (-1,6).

Now,

⇒ -1 = (m * 6 + n * -3)/m + n

⇒ -1(m + n) = 6m - 3n

⇒ -m - n = 6m - 3n

⇒ 7m = 2n

⇒ m/n = 2/7

⇒ m : n = 2 : 7

Therefore, the ratio is 2 : 7.

Hope this helps!
