Let's assume ratio to be k : 1

P(x,y) = ( Section formula )

x =  \frac{ k( - 1) + 1(5)}{k + 1}

y =  \frac{k( - 4) + 1( - 6)}{k + 1}

Then ,

x =   \frac{ - k + 5}{k + 1}

y =  \frac{ - 4k - 6}{k + 1}

Then,

But , P lies on y axis , So , its coordinate is 0 .

0 =  \frac{ - k + 5}{k + 1}

k = 5

Ratio is 5:1
