Find the ratio in which the y axis divides the line segment joining the points -4.5 and 3.-7​

Answer:

eqution of the line

(y-5) /(-7-5) = (x+4) /(3+4)

7y-35 = - ( 12x+48)

7y+12x = -13

on y axis x cordinate is 0

so y = -13/7

so the cordinate at which line passes y axis is (0, -13/7)

now apply distance formula for each part and find the ratio required
