letP (x,0) is dividing joining of (x1,y1)= A(5,-6), (x2,y2)=B(-1,4)in the ratio of m1:m2 = k:1
by using section formula
P(x,0)= [ (m1x2+m2x1)/m1+m2 , (m1y2+m2y1)/m1+m2]

= [(k*(-1)+1*5)/k+1 , (k*4+1*(-6)/k+1]
=[-k+5/k+1 , 4k-6/k+1]

therefore
4k-6/k+1 = 0
4k-6 =0
4k=6
k= 6/4
k =3/2
ratio = k:1 = 3:2
and
x= -k+5/k+1
= (-3/2+5)/(3/2+1)
= (-3+10)/(3+2)
=-7/5

P(x,0) = (-7/5, 0)
