Total Surface Area of the Cube (T.S.A) = 6 a²

Lateral surface area of the Cube (L.S.A) = 4 a²

Now,

Ratio of T.S.A and L.S.A of the Cube = (6 a²)/ (4 a²)

= 3/2

= 3 : 2

Hence, the ratio of the total surface area and lateral surface area of a cube is 3 : 2.

Extra information :

Surface area:

Surface area of a solid object is a measure of the total area that the surface of the object occupies and it is always measured in square unit.

Hence surface area is also known as total surface area T.S.A.

Lateral surface area of a cube :

If out of the 6 faces of a cube we do not include the bottom and top faces then the area of the remaining four faces is called the lateral surface area of the cube.

Lateral surface area of a cube = 4 a²
