So let us assume the diameter to be 'd'

So the radius will be r =d/2

And let the heights be 'h'

Right, Now

We know,

Volume of cone = 1/3 × pie × r^2 × h

Volume of cylinder = pie × r^2 × h

So to find the ratio we must divide the above terms

Therefore,

Vol (cone) /vol(cylinder) =1/3 ÷ 1

Hence the ratio is

1:3
