find the relationship between drift velocity and relaxation time of charge carriers in a conductor. A conductor of length L is connected to a DC source of EMF E. If the length of conductor is tripled by stretching, keeping E constant explain how is drift velocity would be affected.

as length increases the resistance by 3 times so does increases the average collisions between the charge carriers. Hence the drift velocity is reduced by 3 times and lastly the relaxation time increases
