p(y)=y^3+y^2+2y+3

Divisor=(y+2)

y=-2

Method 1-

By remainder theorem-

p(-2)=-8+4-4+3

Remainder= -5

Method 2-

By long division-

Quotient=y^2-y+4

Remainder= -5

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

y+2 ) y³ + y² + 2y + 3 (y²+y

        y³ + 2y²

              -y²+2y

               y²+2y

                           3

Remainder = 3
