p(x)=2x³-3x²+7x-8
g(x)=x-1
x-1=0
x=1 put in p(x)
2(1)³-3(1)²+7(1)-8
2-3+7-8
-2
so remainder is -2

\textbf{ Hello Mate! }

p(x) = 2 {x}^{3} - 3 {x}^{2} + 7x - 8 \\ \\ now \: divisor \: is \: (x - 1) \\ x = 1 \\ \\ p(1) = 2 {(1)}^{3} - 3 {(1)}^{2} + 7(1) - 8 \\ p(1) = 2 - 3 + 7 - 8 \\  = - 2

\boxed{ Hence\:remainder\:is\:-2 }

Have great future ahead!

abhi569: Ok
abhi569: Write p( 1 ) not p( x )
ShuchiRecites: But bhaiya, then meaning will change
ShuchiRecites: We have to find value of "p(x)" so we can't keep 1 in place of x because remainder is "-2".
Anonymous: it's p(1) :-)
ShuchiRecites: Okay, thanks Abhi bhaiya and Rose999 for pointing out
