Let p(x) = x³ - ax³ + 6x - a ,

If p(x) divided by ( x - a ) then the

remainder is p(a)

Now ,

p(a) = a³ - a×a³ + 6a - a

= a³ - a⁴ + 5a

Therefore ,

Required remainder = -a⁴ + a³ + 5a
