Given :

Length (L) = 1 m

Area (A) = 2 mm²

Resistivity (ρ) = 100 × 10⁻⁶ ohm . m

To Find :

Resistance of nichrome wire

Solution :

We know, Resistance is directly proportional to length of the conductor (L) and inversely proportional to the cross-sectional area (A). Resistance can be given as -

Resistance (R) = ρ\frac{L}{A}

                        = 10⁻⁴ × \frac{1}{2 * (10^-^3)^2}

                        = 50 ohm

Therefore, the resistance of the nichrome wire of length 1 m having area of cross section of 2mm² is 50 ohm.
