Answer:

5x2 -7x -6 =0

5x2 -10x +3x -6 =0

5x( x-2) +3(x-2) =0

(x-2) (5x+3)=0

x=2 , x=-3/5

direct method

5x2 -7x -6 =0

+10/5 -3/5

2 ,-3/5

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

5x² - 7x - 6 = 0                                                        workings

÷ by 5 on both sides                                             (1/2 x coefficient of x )²

x² - 7x/5   - 6/5                                                         = ( 1/2 x  -7/5)²

x²  - 7x /5  + 49/100  = 6/5 +49/100                         = ( - 7/10)²

   ( x - 7/10)²     =  169/100                                          =  49/100

take √  on both sides

  x - 7/10  =  ±  13/10

  x -7/10  = 13/10              (or)  x - 7/10  = - 13/10

       x = 13/10 + 7/10                      x  = -13/10  + 7/10

           =  20/10                                  = -6/10

           = 2                                          = -2/5
