Step-by-step explanation:

(x-1) / (x-2) +(x-3) / (x-4) = 1

=> (x-1)(x-4) + (x-3)(x-2) = (x-4)(x-2)

=> x²-5x+4+x²-5x+6 =x²-6x+8

=> x²-4x+2=0

x= 2±√(16-8)/2

= 2±2√2/2

= 2±√2

root of eqn , alfa= 2+√2 and beta= 2-√2

Here used quadratic formula

x= [-b/±(-4ac)]/2a

= -b/2a ± (-4ac)/2a

hope this helps you
