Given:

Principal = 1250 Rs., time = 2.5 years and Rate = 12% pa.

To find:

The simple interest.

Solution:

To answer this question, first of all, we should know the formula for finding the simple interest on a sum or the principal amount 'P', for 'T' years at the rate 'R' per annum. So,

Simple \:  interest = P \times  R \times  T

Now,

as given, we have,

Sum or principal or P = 1250 Rs., time or T = 2.5 years and Rate or R = 12%.

So,

Simple interest

 = 1250 \times  \frac{12}{100}  \times 2.5

On solving the above, we get

 =  \frac{125 \times 12 \times 25}{100}

 = 125 \times 3

 = 375 \: Rs.

Hence, the simple interest on ₹ 1250 for 2.5 years at 12 % pa is 375 Rs.
