Question :-

  • Find the simple interest on Rs. 5000 at rate 8 % per annum for 3 years .

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Answer :-

  • Simple Interest = Rs. 1,200 .

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Explanation :-

  • Here, Principal is given Rs. 5000 . Rate of Interest is 8 % . Time period is 3 years . And, we have to calculate the Simple Interest .

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Formula Required :-

  • \sf{Simple \: Interest =  \frac{P \times R \times T}{10} } \\

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Here ,

  • P denotes to Principal .
  • R denotes to Rate of Interest .
  • T denotes to Time period .

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

By substituting the given values :-

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

\Longrightarrow \:  \sf{Simple \: lnterest =  \frac{P \times R \times T}{100} } \\

\Longrightarrow \:  \sf{Simple \: Interest =  \frac{5000 \times 8 \times 3}{100} } \\

\Longrightarrow \:  \sf{ Simple \: Interest  = \frac{50 \times 8 \times 3}{1} } \\

 \Longrightarrow \:  \sf{Simple \: Interest = 50 \times 8 \times 3} \\

\Longrightarrow  \:  \sf{Simple \: Interest = 400 \times 3} \\

\Longrightarrow \:  \sf{Simple \: Interest = Rs. \: 1200} \\

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Hence :-

  • Simple Interest = Rs. 1200 .

To find : simple interest

Given :  Principal amount = 5000   Rate = 8 \%  Time = 3 years

Solution :

  • We know that , the simple Interest of an amount is calculated by multiplying the interest rate by the principal amount and the time period.
  • SI Formula :   S.I = \frac{P\times R\times T}{100}
  • So, putting the value in formula. we get,
  • S.I = \frac{5000\times 8 \times 3}{100}

              = 50\times 8 \times 3\\= 1200

Hence, S.I will be 1200 .
