Step-by-step explanation:

28th December2011 to 22th May 2012=175 days.

here, P=6240, R=20/3%, T=175/375 year

SI=

 \frac{prt}{100}

 \frac{6240 \times 20 \times 175}{3 \times 100 \times 365}

=194.14

and the amount is (6240+194.14)=6434.14

Principal =Rs.6240.                                      ( given)

Rate of interest + 20/3 %                             ( given)

Time = December 28, 2011 to May 22, 2012:-

2011  from December 28th = 4 days

           from 2012         January  = 31 days

                                    February= 29 days        (2012 is leap year. so February= 29 days)

                                   March = 31 days

                                   April    = 30 days

                                   May    = 22 days

------------------------------------------------------------

                                Time  = 147 days.

     Now Simple Interest or SI = PRT/100

                                            =( Rs 6240 × 20/3% × 147/ 365 days) ÷ 100

                                            = Rs167

Total amount will be =Rs (6240 +167)= Rs6407

Hence Total amount will be Rs Rs6407.

Ans :- Total amount will be Rs Rs6407.
