Use this

Shortcut =>

X+y-xy/100

Where x and y are two successive discounts

So we get

X=20%
Y=10%

Given

=20+10-(20x10)/100

=30-2

=28%

You can find it with this method also

Let cp=100

Discount =20%

Sp after 20% discount

=80

Now we allow a another discount of 10%

So

Cp=80

Discount =10%

Hence sp=80-8

=72

Discount =cp-final sp

=100-72

=28

Discount in %=cpx discount /100

=100x28/100

=28%
