find the smallest number which when divided by 40,60 and 100 leaves 24 as the reminder in each case​

Answer:

LCM( 40 , 60 , 100 ) = 600.

Required number = LCM + 24 = 624 .

It is so becuase LCM is divided by all of these numbers , so if any number is added to LCM , so that number will be remainder if r < 40 .

Hence , if 24 is given as remainder , so the number must be 624.

We can check out this also ,

624 = 60 × 100 + 24

624 = 100 × 60 + 24

624 = 40 × 15 + 24.

Hence , its also verified by division.

You can also solve this easily using simple linear algebra.
