It is 173
173/6 gives remainder 5
173/7 gives remainder 5
173/8 gives remainder 5

Prime factorization of 6 = 2 * 3

Prime factorization of 7 = 7

Prime factorization of 8 = 2 * 2 * 2

LCM(6,7,8) = 168.

The smallest number that when divided by 6,7,8 will leave remainder 5 in each case = 168 + 5 = 173.

Therefore the smallest number = 173.

Hope this helps!

diy2: 8= 2,2,2
