Distance travelled in first 2 min
S = 0.5at^2
= 0.5 * 0.5 * (2 * 60)^2
= 3600 m
= 3.6 km

Velocity at the end of 2 min
v = u + at
v = 0 + 0.5*(2 * 60)
v = 60 m/s

Distance covered in next 20 min
S’ = vT
= 60 * (20 * 60)
= 72000 m
= 72 km

Distance covered during retardation
S” = u^2 / (2a)
= (60^2) / (2 * 0.25)
= 7200 m
= 7.2 km

Time taken during retardation
t = u/a
= 60 / 0.25
= 240 seconds

Average speed = Total distance / Total time
= (36 + 72 + 7.2) km / (2 + 20 + (240/60)) min
= 4.430 km/min
= 265.8 km/h
= 73.83 m/s
