find the solution of the linear equation x+2y=8 which represents a point on (i) x-axis (ii) y-axis

x+2y=8
(i) since it lie on x-axis so y=0
therefore,
x+2y=8
x+(2x0)=8
x=8

(ii) since it lie on y-axis so x=0
therefore,
x+2y=8
0+2y=8
2y=8
y=4
