Answer:

x - y = 2

y = x - 2  ⇒ equation 1

2x - y + 2 = 0

2x - (x - 2) + 2 = 0

2x -x + 2 + 2 = 0

x = - 4

y = - 4 - 2

y = -6

Given:-

\sf{x - y = 2} \:  \:  \:  \: ⇢1

\sf{2x - y + 2 = 0} \:  \:  \:  \: ⇢2

Proof:-

\sf{⇒x = 2 + y \: (from \: 1)}

Substitute the value of x to equation 2

\sf{⇒2(y + 2) - y + 2 = 0}

\sf{⇒2y + 4 - y + 2 = 0}

\sf{⇒y + 6 = 0}

\large\sf{\color{yellow}\boxed{\color{orange}{⇒y =  - 6}}} \:  \:  \:  \:

Substitute the value of y for equation 1

\sf{⇒x - ( - 6) = 2}

\sf{⇒ x + 6 = 2}

\sf{⇒x = 2 - 6}

\large\sf{\color{yellow}\boxed{\color{orange}{⇒x =  - 4}}}
