 {(39)}^{2} we \:  can \: also \: write \:  \\  \\  {(40 - 1)}^{2}  \\  \\ by \: using \:  {(a - b)}^{2} we \: can \: find \:  \\  \\  {(40)}^{2}  - 2(40)(1) +  {(1)}^{2}  \\  \\ 1520 + 1 \\  \\  =  &gt; 1521
