Given:

We have given two rational numbers which are  \frac{-9}{12} +\frac{5}{8}.

To Find:

We have find the sum?

Step-by-step explanation:

  • Rational number:A number is said to be a rational number if the given number in the form a by b where b is not equal to zero.
  • Given number are  \frac{-9}{12} +\frac{5}{8}.
  • To find the sum of numbers First of all we will find the L.C.M of denominator terms which are 12 and 8
  • L.C.M of 12 and 8 is 24.
  • Now we divide the denominator terms by 24 and now multiply the quotient by numerator terms and write it as

       \frac{-9}{12} +\frac{5}{8} =\frac{-18+15}{24}

  • Now do the subtraction  of the numerator terms  because plus minu s will give minus which will led to

      \frac{-9}{12} +\frac{5}{8} =\frac{-3}{24}=\frac{-1}{8}

Hence, the addition of given number is \frac{-1}{8}
