2 , 4 , 6 , ...., 350 are all even
numbers from 2 to 350 are in
Arithmetic progression.
Common difference ( d ) = a2 - a1
d = 4 - 2 = 2
First term ( a ) = 2
Last term ( L ) = 350
a + ( n - 1 )d = 350
2 + ( n - 1 ) 2 = 350
Divide each term with 2 , we get
1 + n - 1 = 175
n = 175
Sum of n terms Sn = ( n/2 )[ a + L ]
S175 = ( 175/2 ) [ 2 + 350 ]
= ( 175 × 352 )/2
= 175 × 176
= 30800
