∑(2n-1)=1+3+5+...=[(n+1)/2]²
49+1=50
(50/2)²=2500

1 + 3 = 2²
1 + 3 + 5 = 3²
so
1 + 3 + ... + 97 + 99 = [ 100/2 ] ² = 50² = 2,500
