Given A.P : 34 , 32 , 30 , .......... , 10
Here , a = 34 , d = t2 - t1 = 32-34= -2 , tn = 10 , Sn=?
tn = a+ ( n-1 ) d
10 = 34 + (n - 1 ) * (-2)
10 = 34 -2n +2
10 = 36-2n
10-36 = -2n
-26 = -2n
26 = 2n
n= 26/2
n= 13
Now , Sn = n/2 [ 2a + (n-1) d ]
S13 = 13/2[ 2*34 + (13-1) *(-2) ]
S13 = 13/2 [ 68 + 12 * (-2)]
S13 = 13/2 [ 68 - 24]
S13 = 13/2* 44
S13 = 13* 22
S13 = 286
Therefore the sum of the given AP 34 +32+30+.......+10 is 286
