 \frac{5}{9}  +  \frac{7}{9}

 =  \frac{5 + 7}{9}

 =  \frac{12}{9}

 =  \frac{4}{3}

here 12gets cancel because it the multiple of 4 in three table and 9 gets cancel because it is multiple of 3 in three table.
