To find:

Sum  of the two fractional numbers

Solution:

1) Activity used to solve the above problem  is Paper folding.

2) In this activity we will fold the paper until we get the equal number of partition on the both papers.

3) Just take the example of the 1/2 and 1/3

• Pictorial representation for the both numbers is represented in the picture attached
• you can clearly see that we folded the paper until we get the blocks under the rectangle equal in numbers in both the cases
• by doing this we get 1/2 as 3/6 and 1/3 as 2/6
• so now we will add 3/6 and 2/6

             3/6 + 2/6 = 5/6
