LET suppose,

p(x)=x²+7x+10

zeros of the polynomial is actually the value of x where p(X) =0

put p(x)=0

0=x²+7x+10

or x²+7x+10=0

now we can easily find out the roots of above equation by splitting middle terms

so that,

x²+5x+2x+10=0

x(x+5)+2(x+5)=0

x+2=0,

x+5=0

so that x=-2

and x=-5

so the value of x is either -2 or -5

Answer:

sum of zeros=-7

Step-by-step explanation:

p(x)=x2+7x+10

x2+7x+10=0

splitting it

x2+5x+2x+10=0

x(x+5)+2(x+5)=0

(x+2)(x+5)=0

x+2=0      x+5=0

x=-2        x=-5

alpha=-2    beta=-5

sum of zeros=-2+(-5)=-7
