(1.) 31+15
The numbers are written in expanded form as 31 = 30 + 1 and 15 = 10 + 5.

Now digits of one’s place are added 1 + 5 = 6

Again numbers of ten’s place are added 30 + 10 = 40

Therefore, total sum = 40 + 6 = 46

(2.) 45 +21

The numbers are written in expanded form as 45= 40 + 5 and 21 = 20 + 1

Now digits of one’s place are added 5 + 1 = 6

Again numbers of ten’s place are added 40 + 20 = 60

Therefore, total sum = 60 + 6 = 66

(3.) 67+12
The numbers are written in expanded form as 67 = 60 + 7 and 12 = 10 + 2

Now digits of one’s place are added 7 + 2 = 9

Again numbers of ten’s place are added 60 + 10 = 70

Therefore, total sum = 70 + 9 = 79
