These are angles which add up to 180 degrees.

In other words if x and y are supplementary then :

x + y = 180

And to get either x or y we have :

x = 180 - y

y = 180 - x

In our case let x = 135

then y would be :

y = 180 - 135 = 45

= 45 degrees
