Total Surface area of Hemisphere = 3πr²
where, r is the radius of the Hemisphere.
d = 14 cm
r = d/2 = 14/2 = 7 cm
Total Surface Area = 3πr²
 = 3 \times  \frac{22}{7}  \times 7  \times 7
 =462 {cm}^{2}

Question : Find the surface area of the given figure.

                                        Given Data :

  1. The shape is a hemisphere
  2. The diameter is 14 cm.

The total surface area of a hemisphere is 3πr², Where r is the radius and π is called pi.

The value of pi can be taken as  \frac{22}{7} or as 3.14

In the question, the diameter is given as 14 cm. We know that, radius is half of diameter. Hence, the radius of the given hemisphere will be \frac{14}{2} = 7 cm.

Let us take it as \frac{22}{7}

So, 3 × \frac{22}{7} ×( 7)²

= 462 cm.

Therefore, the total surface area of the given hemisphere is 462 cm.
