As we know that

Let

r as radius of cylinder

h as height of cylinder

s as surface area of cylinder

$surface \: area \: of \: cylinder = 2\pi \times r \times h + 2 \times \pi \times {r}^{2}$

$s = 2 \times \pi \times 5 \times 3 + 2 \times \pi \times {5}^{2}$

by multiplication

$s = 30\pi + 50\pi$

$s = (30 + 50)\pi$

$\pi = 3.14$

now

$s = 80 \times 3.14$

by multiplication we get

$s = 251.42 {cm}^{2}$

Hence surface area of cylinder is 251.42 cm sq.
