according to the question,
let the length of the solid = 5m = l
breadth = 4m = b
height = 3m = h
[NOTE: you can take any measurement as length, breadth, height from the dimensions ie. 5m,4m, 3m]
as we know the formula for surface area of a cuboid ( rectangular solid ) = 2( lb + bh + hl )
so surface area of the solid
= 2( 5×4 + 4×3 + 3×5 ) m²
= 2( 20 + 12 + 15 ) m²
= 2( 47 ) m²
= 94m²
as we know for finding the length of a rectangular solid the formula is
= √( l² + b² + h² )
so length of digonal of the solid
= √ (5² + 4² + 3² )
= √ ( 25 + 16 + 9 )
= √ ( 50 )
= 7.0710678118655
= 7.07m ( aprox )
Hence the surface area of the rectangular solid is 94m² and length may be 5m, 4m or 3m but here i took the length as 5m. And the length of the digonal is 7.07m (aprox).
