Question :-

Find the total surface area of a hollow cylindrical pipe of length 50 cm, external diameter 12 cm and internal diameter 9 cm.-

AnSwEr :-

Given ,

A pipe with inner diameter 9 cm , outer diameter 12 cm , length 50 cm .

➡ Inner diameter = 9 cm, inner radius = 4.5 Cm

➡ Outer diameter = 12 cm, Outer radius = 6 Cm

➡ Total surface area of pipe = Curved surface area of inner pipe + Curved surface area of Outer pipe + Area of remaining Circular Portion.

➡ 2πrh + 2πrh + 2π( r ^ 2 - r ^ 2)

2 \times \pi \times 4.5 \times 50 + 2  \times \pi \times 6 \times 50 + 2 \times \pi \times+ 2\pi(r^2-r^2)

 = 3399\: cm ^{2}
