SOLUTION

TO DETERMINE

The two rectangular components of a force of 100N which is acting at an angle of 30° with x axis

EVALUATION

Here it is given that a force of 100N which is acting at an angle of 30° with x axis

Thus angle = θ = 30°

So resolving the force of 100N in two rectangular components we get

Component along x axis

 \displaystyle \sf{ = F \cos \theta}

 \displaystyle \sf{ = F \cos  {30}^{ \circ} }

 \displaystyle \sf{ = 100 \times   \frac{ \sqrt{3} }{2}  \:  \: N}

 \displaystyle \sf{ = 50 \sqrt{3}  \:  \: N}

Component along y axis

 \displaystyle \sf{ = F \sin \theta}

 \displaystyle \sf{ = F \sin  {30}^{ \circ} }

 \displaystyle \sf{ = 100 \times   \frac{1 }{2}  \:  \: N}

 \displaystyle \sf{ = 50  \:  \: N}
