Answer:

(¡) its valency is 2. generally valency of an atom is equal to no electron in the last subshell.

(¡¡)In FeO , Fe has a valency of 2. In Fe2O3, Fe has a valency of 3.

(¡¡¡)The valency of Mn is +7.

In KMnO4, let the valency of Mn be ‘x’.

We know that the valency of O is -2 and that of K is +1.

The overall charge of the compound is zero.

(+1) + x + (-2)4=0x - 7 = 0x=+7

In general for a compound AxBy,

(Valency of A)x + (Valency of B)y = overall charge on the compound.

Hope this helps!
