Step-by-step explanation:

let 1/(x-1)=p &. 1/(y-2)=q

now given equations become

5p+q=2

5p-3q=1

now by substituting method

5p+q=2

5p=2-q

p= (2-q)/5 put it in 2nd equation

now

5{(2-q)/5}- 3q = 1

(2-q) -3q=1

2-4q=1

2-1=4q

4q=1

q=1/4. now. p= {(2-q)/5}

p={(2-1/4)/5}

p={(8-1)/4}/5

p=7/20

now p=7/20=1/(x-1). &.

q= 1/4=1/(y-2)

x-1=20/7. &. y-2= 4

x=20/7+1= (20+7)/7=27/7

x=27/7

y-2=4

y=4+2=6

y=6

Step-by-step explanation:

X+2y =5 ..equation(1)

7x+3y=13.equation(2)

3 is multiply to equation (1) and 2 is multiply to equation (2)

X+ 2y=5 x3

7X +3y=13*2

=3x +6y=15

=14x +6y=26

-11x = -11x

X=1

put the value of x in equation (1)

X+2y=5

1+2y=5

2y=5-1

2y=4

y= 4/2

y=2

so the value of X =1 and Y=2
