Given:  ( 1 - i)²

To Find : Value

Solution:

( 1 - i)²

use identity

(a - b)² = a²  + b²  - 2ab

a = 1  ,  b = i

= 1² + i²   - 2(1)(i)

= 1 + i² - 2i

i² = - 1

= 1 + (-1) - 2i

= 0 - 2i

= -2i

( 1 - i)² = -2i
