Find the value of a+b if 49 = 7a and 25-5b

Answer:

49 = 7a

a = 49/7 = 7

49 = 25 - 5b

b = (49-25)/5

b = 24/5

a+b = 7 + 24/5

= (35+24)/5

= 59/5 = 11.8
