Step-by-step explanation:

given : a(-3,-14), b (a, -5 ) are vertices

if distance between AB vertices = 9 unit

BY Applying distance Formula we get

AB^2=(x2-x1)^2+(y2-y1)^2

9^2= (a+3)^2+(-5+14)^2

81= (a+3)^2 + 81

0= (a+3)^2

a+3 = +-0

a= -3
