Step-by-step explanation:

Given

-3x +5y = 7..... equ (1)

2ax -3y = 1.......equ (2)

multiply equ (1) by 3 Nd equ( 2) by 5 we get

-9x + 15y = 21

10ax - 15y = 5

..........................

ax = 26

x= 26/a

putting value of x in equ 2 we get

2ax -3y = 1

2a(26/a) -3y = 1

52-3y =1

52 - 1 = 3y

51 = 3y

y = 51/3

y = 17

putting y = 17 in eq 1 we get

-3x + 5 y = 7

-3x + 5(17) = 7

-3x +85 = 7

-3x = 7 - 85

-3x = -78

x = 78/3

x = 26

putting x = 26 in equ x = 26/a we get

26 = 26/ a

by cross multiplication

26a = 26

a = 26/26

a = 1
