x=3

2x-3y=5

2(3)-3y=5

6-3y=5

6-5=3y

1=3y

y=1/3

And

Y =a

So 2x-3y=5

2*3-3*a=5

6-3a=5

- 3a=5-6

- 3a=-1

a =-1/3
