x=-3/2
putting value of x in given eq.
2x³+9x²-x-b=0
=> 2(-3/2)³+9(-3/2)²-(-3/2)-b=0
=> 2(-27/8)+9(9/4)+3/2-b=0
=> -27/4+81/4+3/2=0+b
=> 54/4+3/2=b
=> 27/2+3/2=b
=> 30/2=b
=> 15=b
...
